Role of Media Relations

customer relations: This is an extremely important piece of media relations. If a customer doesn’t trust or like you, they most likely will not buy your product or endorse your idea. A large part of a happy customer is “word of mouth.” If one person is happy with a product, they will tell their friend or neighbor and in turn that friend or neighbor will tell their friend or neighbor and so on.
crisis management employee relations: Think about this, if an employee was rude to you at a certain store or company are you likely to go there again? I wound not. It is important to pick good employees and keep the good ones happy. Employees represent your company to their friends, families, and the public.
investor relationships: The obvious reason that investor relationships are important is that they are the investors. They are contributing the financing for your venture. It is important to let them feel included. Make sure someone is designated to keep them informed and up to date.
marketing communications: This is the way companies communicate with the consumers. It is important to do research on their audience and figure out the best way to “sell” their product.
I think organizations should use every single one of these categories to make sure they are doing what they need to do. It benefits them as well as their company.
